How do I apply Advanced Paint Restorer?
Working on the affected areas, apply the product using an Autoglym Hand Polishing Puck or clean . Work into the paintwork with up/down and side/side motion. Increase the pressure to remove specific marks as required. Once the product has broken down to an oily residue, decrease the pressure to improve surface gloss. Check the restoration progress regularly. Buff with a clean Autoglym Finishing Cloth.
Can I use my machine polisher to apply this product?
Yes, for machine polishing use an Autoglym Dual-Action Machine Pad on your polisher and refer to the guidance of the machine.
Can I apply Advanced Paint Restorer in wet conditions?
No, rain or moisture may cause the product to run. For best results always apply in dry conditions.
Do I need to clean the car before applying Advanced Paint Restorer?
Yes, this product requires a clean and contaminant free surface . We recommend using your preferred Autoglym shampoo, followed by Autoglym Magma to decontaminate the surfaces of dirt, traffic film and iron fallout. Ensure surfaces are also dry before use.
Do I need to polish my car after buffing?
No, Advanced Paint Restorer enhances the colour and gloss finish. But if you do wish to add further protection, we suggest applying one of our speed finishing products such as Rapid Ceramic Spray or UHD Ceramic Coating.
How long should Advanced Paint Restorer last?
The results are permanent as you have actually removed the defects. A second application may enhance the results in some cases.
Can I use Advanced Paint Restorer on my painted bumpers and trim?
Yes, provided they are lacquered.
Will this product be removed if I clean my car with an alkali product such as a APC/TFR or pressure washer?
No, as you have already permanently removed the defect and removed any excess product.
I have a whole car to treat, is there a better way than using a microfibre cloth?
Yes, the Autoglym Hand Polishing Puck is designed for exactly these tasks and makes application over a large area easier and more even. You get two applicators in the pack. You can also use a Dual Action Machine Polisher with an Autoglym Dual-Action Machine Pad.
How do I clean the Machine Pad?
Rinse the pad in warm water immediately after use and allow to air dry. If the pad surface is hard or cracked please replace it.
What's the difference between Autoglym Paint Reviver and Autoglym Advanced Paint Restorer?
Paint Reviver is a super easy to apply product and works by filling defects while enhancing gloss. It will need to be re-applied when the defects become more visible again, typically more than three months. Advanced Paint Restorer requires a little more effort and works by gently cutting into the surface of the clear coat to permanently remove the defect while enhancing colour and gloss.
My car has deeper scratches, will this product remove them?
We cannot 100% guarantee that, However, it is possible that this product might make the scratch less visible. The general rule of thumb is that if you can feel a scratch with your fingernail then it is too deep for any chemical correction product and we recommend seeking professional advice.
