How do I apply Exterior Trim Restorer?
The product comes as a kit with a small foam applicator. Apply several drops of fluid to the light grey side of the applicator then apply in straight lines to the plastic part. Wait 5 minutes then buff lightly with a clean microfibre cloth.
What should I do if I get Exterior Trim Restorer on my paintwork?
No problem, simply remove any surplus product from unwanted areas with a clean microfibre cloth.
Can I apply Exterior Trim Restorer in wet conditions?
No, rain or moisture may cause the product to run. For best results always apply in dry conditions.
Do I need to clean the plastic parts before applying Exterior Trim Restorer?
Yes, this is essential for good adhesion of the product and maximum durability of the finish. We recommend using a pre-wash product like Autoglym All Purpose Cleaner for this. Ensure the parts are fully dry before applying the Exterior Trim Restorer.
How much trim can be coated with one 30ml bottle?
A little goes a long way, and one bottle should be enough to treat 5 average sized cars.
Can I drive my car immediately after application?
We would advise to let the product cure for 20 min before driving the vehicle. Please wait 24hrs before washing the vehicle.
What kind of finish does Exterior Trim Restorer give?
It is formulated to give a deep rich colour with a natural finish similar to when the plastic was new.
How long should Exterior Trim Restorer last?
The length of time the finish will last will depend on multiple factors such as weather, driving milage and road conditions. However typically it would last for 3+ months. Significantly longer that traditional silicone based products.
Can I use Exterior Trim Restorer on my tyres?
No, we recommend Autoglym Instant Tyre Dressing or High Performance Tyre Gel for this task.
Should I use this product on body-coloured or painted trim?
No, painted trim should be treated in the same way as painted bodywork.
What makes this product last longer than other products like Bumper & trim Gel?
Exterior Trim Restorer features a new innovative SolGel technology which is absorbed into the micropores of the plastic and chemically bonds to the material.
Can I use this product in the home to restore faded plastics?
We have found great results using Exterior Trim Restorer on faded garden plastics like seating and storage units as well as composite door panels. However, please only use on dark colours like black, greys, navy etc and always test on a small unobtrusive area first. Autoglym does not provide any guarantee of success with these materials.
If I have dark grey trim on my car will this make the plastic black or just protect the grey?
Exterior Trim Restorer will revive the trim to its ORIGINAL colour whether black or grey.
Will this product be removed if I clean my car with a TFR or pressure washer?
No, the finish is extremely durable but we advise not to use super strength or undiluted TFRs. Please also use your pressure washer sensibly on restored trim , keeping it a distance from the surface of the trim.
Can I buy replacement applicator pads?

How do clean the applicator pad?
Rinse the pad in warm water immediately after use and allow to dry. If the pad surface is hard or cracked please replace it.
