Why should I clean my wheels separately?

Why should I clean my wheels separately?

If you’ve washed a car before, you’ve probably just cleaned your wheels with the same soap you washed your car with. However, wheels (and tyres) are battered with a special blend of bad news dirt, and these are some reasons why you should treat them differently, and separately:

  • Brake dust is nasty: Wheels are closest to the road and brakes, which produce brake dust and tough contaminants, the majority of which is iron, the origins of rust, that regular car wash soap finds hard to handle. Specialist wheel cleaners are designed to break down the heaviest gunk safely, protecting your rims and leaving them sparkling. For this we recommend Advanced All Wheel Cleaner
  • Protect your paint: The stuff that comes off your wheels (brake dust, iron particles, and grease) can scratch and damage your car’s paint if it mixes with your wash water. Cleaning wheels separately keeps the mess contained and your paint safe.
  • Complete the look with dressed tyres: Tyres are part of the package. A good tyre dressing gives them that rich, dark, like-new finish, making your car look polished and complete, like putting on the perfect shoes to match an outfit. Make you wheels and tyres shine with the Autoglym Wheel Care Range.
