What is Paint Reviver?
Autoglym Paint Reviver is an easy to use coating that conceals, paint swirls and fine scratches.
What car parts can Paint Reviver be used on?
It's perfect for use on painted and lacquered bodywork or other surfaces. Do NOT use on metal, plastic, rubber or glass parts.
How do I apply Paint Reviver?
Working on one panel at a time, apply the product using the Autoglym Precision Applicator or a clean microfibre cloth. Spread evenly across the whole panel and allow to cure to a haze. Buff lightly with a clean Autoglym Finishing Cloth.
How long does it take for the product to cure before buffing?
Dependant on the weather conditions, around 10-15 min should be sufficient.
Can I apply Paint Reviver in wet conditions?
No, rain or moisture may cause the product to run. For best results always apply in dry conditions.
Do I need to clean the car before applying Paint Reviver?
Yes, this is essential for good adhesion of the product and maximum durability of the finish. We recommend using your favourite Autoglym shampoo, followed by Autoglym Magma to decontaminate the surfaces of dirt, traffic film and iron fallout. Ensure surfaces are dry.
Do I need to polish my car after buffing?
No, Paint Reviver enhances the colour and gloss finish without the need for further stages. The finish can be maintained Rapid Ceramic Spray or Aqua Wax if you so wish.
Can I use my machine polisher to apply this product?
No, Paint Reviver is designed for hand application. For machine polishing please use Autoglym Advanced Paint Restorer or one of our Professional compounds.
How long should Paint Reviver last?
The length of time the finish will last will depend on multiple factors such as weather, driving milage and road conditions. However, typically it would last for at least three months.
Can I use Paint Reviver on my painted bumpers and trim?
Yes, provided they are lacquered.
Will this product be removed if I clean my car with an alkali APC/TFR or pressure washer?
These products wont remove the product, but professional TFR cleaners would diminish the product durability more quickly than using a neutral shampoo. The finish would also be affected by solvent based cleaners like tar remover which would actually remove it. If this happens simply re-apply following the instructions.
I have a whole car to treat, is there a better way than using a microfibre cloth?
Yes, the Autoglym Precision Applicator is designed for exactly these tasks and makes application over a large area easier and more even. You get two applicators in the pack.
How do clean the Precision Applicator?
Rinse the pad in warm water immediately after use and allow to air dry. If the pad surface is hard or cracked please replace it.
What's the difference between Autoglym Paint Reviver and Autoglym Advanced Paint Restorer?
Paint Reviver is a super easy to apply product and works by filling defects while enhancing gloss. It will need to be re-applied when the defects become more visible again, typically more than three months. Advanced Paint Restorer requires a little more effort and works by gently cutting into the surface of the clear coat to permanently remove the defect while enhancing colour and gloss.
My car has deeper scratches, will this product remove them?
We cannot 100% guarantee that, However, it is possible that this product might make the scratch less visible. The general rule of thumb is that if you can feel a scratch with your fingernail then it is too deep for any chemical correction product and we recommend seeking professional advice.
