It’s that day again. Valentine’s Day. You know, the one that either sends you running for the letterbox in a sprint that would put Mo Farah to shame, or staring disappointedly at the empty mat with a face longer than a wet weekend in Cleethorpes…
But let me tell you… it really doesn’t have to be that way.
The way that we see it here at Autoglym HQ, love can be expressed in many ways. Many of us love our cars, of course. Hopefully not quite in the same way that we love our other halves, or else that Channel 5 documentary team will be knocking on your door before you know it. And none of us want that to happen again.
But, those that know what we mean will be nodding sagely at this point. For a true petrolhead, the upkeep and care of your pride and joy borders on the romantic, in a relationship that sees real love and hours of attention being lavished on your chosen beau. For these people, car care is not a chore! It’s an expression of affection! Cars may be made of cold, unfeeling steel (well, apart from Corvette’s, TVRs and Lotuses, to name but a few) but to many of us, there’s a true soul in there.
If that sounds like you, then consider treating your 4-wheeled love to a bit of quality gifting time this Valentine’s Day. Instead of the usual wash and Aqua Wax, why not treat him/her/it (depending on your level of intimacy) to something a little more magnanimous this year? Could we perhaps suggest a nice coat or two of Super Resin Polish to warm things up? Or maybe even a sensual massage session with HD Applicator and a tub of HD Wax? Could be a great way to spend an evening if you don’t have a date to hang out with… Imagine – if you go back to work on the 15th and tell your colleagues you’ve been enjoying the delights – and transformative effects – of Rubber Dressing on Valentine’s night. I’m sure they’ll all understand exactly what you mean.*
For those of you out there lucky enough to have a lover, prospect or even stalkee to hang out with on this most romantic of days, but are struggling to choose what to buy them as an endearing gift, why not browse our shop pages for inspiration? Obviously, this idea works much better if the recipient in questions is really into their car. In those instances, simply stand back as they open your package to admire your own impeccable gifting taste. Expect truly emotional gratitude, phrases such as ‘You know me so well’ and numerous other platitudes to come flooding your way, before you are hopefully whisked off somewhere for said giftee to show their unbounded appreciation in some appropriate way.
Mind you, even if the person you are romantically linked to isn’t that into their cars, it could be a great ice breaker, and we could fill a whole other blog with the many other totally un-approved, yet wonderfully effective uses our products have around the home. Either way, give it a go! What’s the most terrible result that can ensue? Worst outcome is that your date will storm off in a huff and you’ll be left with a handful of fantastic car-care products. Sounds like they weren’t much of a keeper anyway, and you’ve got a fun evening in the garage ahead of you! Winning at romance, my friend!
Even if you are in the perfect/inspirational/sickening position (delete as appropriate) of being truly loved up, nothing looks quite as good – on any date – as a perfectly prepared ride to pick up your other half in. Think about it for a second; you wouldn’t arrive for your romantic interlude unless you’d showered, scrubbed, sprayed and dressed, would you? So don’t expect your car to….
